
"Necessity is the mother of invention." Our founder loves that saying. He also loves working out. In his search for the best tracking app to solve his need of keeping track of his workouts, frustration set in. Everybody wanted him to track everything EXCEPT what he wanted.
He doesn't care about macros. He doesn't care about water intake. He's not writing down every little thing he puts in his mouth, or how many ounces he weighed today versus yesterday. It's very simple. He wanted an easy, comprehensive and intuitive way to record his exercises (at home or the gym), how much he lifted, what he did on what day, and how he could keep a history of that information to prevent brain fog, frustration, and most of all, not wanting to go to the gym at all if he couldn't remember what he had told himself he was supposed to.
He didn't want anyone putting a workout together for him. He wanted the freedom to do what he wanted, when he wanted, and to invent stuff on the fly if that was what his body - or the number of people crowded into the free weights section of the gym - dictated. He freely admits he'll never be a fitness model, and that's fine. But the joy he gets from working out and its positive impacts on his health made it all the more important to find a tool that made his 4-5 days in the gym well worth the effort.
But it didn't exist. Anywhere. Everything he found required you track nonsense he didn't care about, or the app made you buy a $250 scale, or they promised it was free only to turn around and charge an arm and a leg. Just so he could give his brain a break and treat his body right.
He couldn't find what he wanted. So he made it.
